About Hand Sanitizers

Hand Sanitizers are “non-prescription drugs” regulated by the the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). FDA-registered hand sanitizers must be made in an FDA-approved manufacturing facility and will have a drug registration number. Hand sanitizers are required by the FDA to have a Drug Fact label which lists the active ingredients in the formulation. For example, the active ingredient in the below Nyco Alco-Gel Hand Sanitizer is Ethyl Alcohol.

The FDA approves of three active ingredients for hand sanitizer effectiveness. These three ingredients are 1) Ethyl Alcohol (also known as ethanol), 2) Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), and 3) Benzalkonium Chloride. Be sure your hand sanitizer includes one of these three active ingredients.

Because of recent concerns about certain ingredients being toxic in sanitizers sourced outside of the United States, it’s also best to choose products that are Made in the USA.

Nyco Hand Care System dispensers are available in automatic hands-free as well as manual—in both black and white options. All four dispensers accommodate all of the Nyco 1000 mL capacity hand soap and hand sanitizer refill cartridges.

Hand soap and sanitizer dispensers are designed for foaming, liquid, and gel hand soaps and sanitizers. Clear windows allow for product identification and fill level viewing. Tamper resistant and keyless locking covers make replacing refill cartridges easy. Single 1 mL dosing of product is dispensed with each activation. The battery life of our automatic dispensers will be good for 30,000 applications!
